Embodied Confidence

Skin deep dry leg oil: crafted for every age and skin story. For connection to your body, on your terms. This is modern sensuality: confident, unapologetic, and deeply yours.

While skin deep dry leg oil may be known as a portal to quiet self-care, there is nothing demure about this soul and skin-nourishing product. Now over 21 years old, it packs a powerful punch with 19 botanical oils (6 of which are cold pressed) and a new fully recyclable bottle containing 25% more product.

Formulated with 19 cold-pressed and essential oils selected for their high bioavailability and skin affinity, skin deep dry leg oil helps deliver instant luminosity and may support the appearance of firmer, smoother-looking skin over time.

By helping to reinforce the skin’s lipid barrier, it can support improved hydration and texture, which may contribute to a more even-looking tone and visible skin resilience. This daily ritual also offers a grounding, sensual moment of self-connection with every application.

The formula contains the lipids your skin needs for healthy function (including ceramides and free fatty acids), and which can reach the dermis, where they pack in between skin cells to support a healthy structure.

Neuroscientifically speaking, This Works understands the power of affective touch* and how the application of skincare can change your headspace. Massage or application of product can stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, helping the mind enter its rest state and step away from a flight or fight response.
skin deep dry leg oil is your reminder to return to your senses: to touch your skin and feel your presence. When using the original beauty oil, radiance is instinctive, confidence is embodied, and your story is your strength. There’s no need to apologise for who you are or where you’ve been.

98% of users said their skin felt hydrated and 89% saw an improvement in their skin texture.**

So yes, nothing demure about this powerful product.

*Affective touch is slow, gentle contact that activates specific nerve fibres linked to emotional wellbeing. It’s been shown to help reduce stress by engaging the parasympathetic nervous system - the body’s natural ‘rest and restore’ mode.

This late summer, we’re inviting women of every age and every type of story to wear confidence. Inspired by the quiet power of boudoir photography, we celebrate reconnection with the self and the rediscovery of confidence- not to fix bodies, but to feel and nourish them. Reclaiming sensuality as something deeply personal and entirely yours.

There is also nothing shy or reserved about our new campaign photography either. The boudoir-style images, modelled by our This Works staff and friends are a brave celebration of the self, offering a unique way to honour and embrace all aspects of your body identity - from vulnerability to sensuality. Each of our models have been on their own unique journey with their bodies and body acceptance. Our aim is to encourage our community to embark on that same journey of self-discovery, forging deeper connections with their own bodies through bodycare and selfcare and by proxy boost their confidence, self-worth and mental health.

Our expert psychotherapist Lauren Baird joins our embodied confidence journey, guiding us through her grounding ritual with skin deep dry leg oil to invite you to return to your senses and reclaim your skin:

a grounding practice with skin deep dry leg oil

Grounding is something you can come back to at any moment.

Our minds are wired to think, analyse, plan - to zoom ahead into the future.
And this can move us into overthinking, anxiety, and a disconnection to your
true, authentic self.

But grounding brings us back to the here and now.

To the present moment

To your body.

This doesn’t need to be a long meditation practice; it can be as simple as
taking 60 seconds to return back to your senses.

In this practice, we’re going to use skin deep dry leg oil as
a regulation tool.

Start by gently picking up your skin deep dry leg oil
bottle.

Notice how it feels in your hand - the weight of it, the textures of the
bottle.

Then slowly press down on the pump and just notice the sound it makes as the
oil releases into your palm.

Take a gentle breath.

And really let yourself notice the scent of the oil.

There’s something grounding in the rose.

Something earthy in the sandalwood.

Let the scent anchor you here.

It might help to close your eyes for a moment and just take it in.

Then, begin to massage the oil into your skin, post-shower
or post-bath is ideal, but there's no wrong time to care for yourself.

Feel the texture of the oil as it glides across your skin.

Notice how it shifts with your body’s warmth.

How it leaves behind a subtle sheen.

You might even notice the contrast of the before and after, where the oil has
met your skin.

Notice the sound it makes as you massage it in.

Notice the feeling of your fingers making contact with your legs, your body,
your skin.

The gentle swooshing noise.

The rhythm of your hands

The care you’re offering

And just… gently notice what you notice.

Not just how your skin looks, but how it feels to give
yourself this moment.

The exhale that comes from tuning into your senses.

The softness, not just on your skin but in your nervous system.

And as you bring your grounding practice to a
close, just gently notice what it feels like compared to when you first
started.
