why aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the name given to the use of essential oils, extracted from plants, for therapeutic purposes. Aromatherapy is a relatively modern term but its roots lie far in the past. Ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans all used aromatics in their everyday lives. Essential oils are unique, natural, aromatic chemicals found in many types of plant material. An essential oil is the ‘essence’ of the plant and contains the concentrated power of its life source.

Kathy Phillips created this works as an aromatherapy range as she believes that essential oils can benefit one’s health and well-being by working on physical as well as emotional levels. On a physical level essential oils can penetrate into the bloodstream and have many positive benefits, such as increasing blood circulation and promoting skin cell renewal. If inhaled they work very well within the respiratory system, helping clear infections and allergies. On an emotive level, the aromas of essential oils can trigger memories and emotions- the sense of smell is one of the most primitive of our senses and is linked to some of the deepest parts of the brain.

The main criteria at this works are quality, purity and integrity. All our ingredients have to be of a therapeutic standard in order to ‘work’ so the sourcing of essential oils is vital. No compromises are made in the choice or cost of the highest calibre raw materials. The ingredients are sourced extensively from around the world to ensure topmost quality. We use the pick of the crop which has been harvested using the best means of extraction to limit contamination and to maintain purity. We also retain traceability to each farm we source from to guarantee that these stringent farming methods are adhered to at all times.

Our formulators have over 40 years experience in blending essential oils and are regarded as the most skilled aromatherapists in the county. Because of this wealth of experience and knowledge our blenders know which oils work well together and at which percentage- this ensures the synergy needed for therapeutic effect.

Did you know?

Our bath oils contain a 30% concentration of essential oils. This ‘spa like’ strength is far higher than other retail aromatherapy brands; it is the reason why they really do work- it gives the products therapeutic strength so that they can work on physical and emotional levels.

Organic?

90% of the essential oils we currently use are from plants which are organically grown although not necessarily with organic certification. We believe this is the best way to guarantee the highest quality ingredients at any one time. Organic harvests vary year on year and we constantly strive to perfect product quality. We are committed to producing products that really work and do what they say and organic is not necessarily the guarantee of quality and performance. We are committed to honesty and are not trying to jump on the organic bandwagon. We only launch products that we are able to produce to our exacting standards.

Storing and using the products

All our products use natural ingredients and we do not use parabens, therefore please use your opened product within 6 months. Unopened products have a shelf life of 2 years. Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
