When we say ‘This Works’, we mean it. Did you know that the original pillow spray, a carefully-balanced blend of Lavender, Camomile and Vetivert was bottled in 2007 for Crowne Plaza Hotels as a turn-down gift?

In 2011, inspired by reams of positive feedback we launched our deep sleep pillow spray, now a global bestseller and an overwhelming success in countries with prominent sleep issues, such as the US, Australia, Germany and France. By the beginning of 2017, we had total confidence that our sleep products worked, based on years of user trials and customer testimonials, but we also wanted to know why they worked. And so we decided to support an independent functional MRI (fMRI) brain-scan study, led by world-leading neuroscientist and medical doctor, Professor Gaby Badre. During the study, two fragrances were tested and both were found to activate the regions of the brain linked to smell. However, our Deep Sleep fragrance also activated specific areas of the brain associated with pleasure and calmness, enabling the research team to propose that the fragrance could evoke feelings of social comfort, trust and calmness - conceivably impacting sleep.

Over the years, customer testimonials have poured in, all hailing the efficacy of deep sleep pillow spray - and this feedback encouraged us to explore and evolve our range of sleep, skincare and wellness solutions. We developed Deep Sleep to help you fall asleep faster and wake feeling more rested; we created Sleep Plus to help restore healthy sleep patterns for restless sleepers; we created our Morning Expert range to help you wake up well and our Love Sleep range to help encourage intimacy and togetherness.

The difference between our products and others on the market? Firstly, we use high concentrations of ingredients that harness the best in nature at their cleanest and most effective (which you can read about here...) and secondly, we have science on our side. Our products have been submitted to a number of clinical and user trials to ensure that they truly deliver on the promise ‘This Works’. Here's just a few of our results:

deep sleep pillow spray

In independent user trials, deep sleep pillow spray was proven to improve sleep quality and daytime wakefulness. After one night, users found that the pillow spray aided a better night’s sleep, helped them fall asleep faster, made them feel less tired come morning and alleviated the anxiety that surrounds getting to sleep*. In fact:

89% fell asleep faster*

100% would recommend to a friend

97% slept better than normal

98% felt more refreshed in the morning

*In a study of 100 subjects and 100 ex-prescription users compared to no product.

sleep plus pillow spray

Sleep plus pillow spray was proven in user trials to be able to extend the total sleep time of people suffering from temporary sleep issues by a whole two hours.* That’s 120 minutes more shuteye. How does it work? Sleep plus pillow spray utilises a slow-release, motion-activated system to provide sleep support throughout the night. As you turn on your pillow, our award-winning Deep Sleep Superblend, infused with Lavender, Camomile and Vetivert, is slowly released for up to eight hours, aiding a less interrupted sleep overall.

96% had a less disturbed sleep**

94% felt less restless during the night

97% of users felt more awake in the day

89% of users woke less often during the night

*In a study of 23 subjects, use of sleep plus pillow spray resulted in a mean increase in the total sleep time of two hours and three minutes per subject compared to no product. **Independently tested on 200 participants with sleep problems, aged 18+ over a 14 day period, compared to a placebo.

fMRI brain-imaging studies

Many of our sleep and skincare products have been created in collaboration with world-leading neuroscientist and medical doctor, Professor Gaby Badre, who has led a number of independent brain-scan studies (fMRI) to understand the impact that fragrances can have on different areas of the brain.

Our unique linking of science, aromatherapy and brain imaging gives us a personal and invaluable insight into how our fragrance blends work. Looking to the future, they also enable us to create new, highly-effective fragrances that are developed to target specific modern lifestyle and health concerns including disrupted sleep, improving daytime alertness or even being able to enhance memory.

Our most recent research using neuroimaging to discern the effect of fragrance on the brain was published in a peer-reviewed journal by the research team in 2018. In addition, this research was shared with the scientific community via poster presentation by Professor Gaby Badre at the 2018 European Sleep Research Society Congress.
