proven to work
Did you know that the original pillow spray, a carefully balanced blend of Lavender, Vetivert and Camomile was bottled in 2007 for Crowne Plaza Hotels as a turn down gift? In 2011, inspired by reams of positive feedback we launched our deep sleep pillow spray, now a global bestseller and overwhelming success in countries with prominent sleep issues such as the US, Australia, Germany and France.
Since then the customer testimonials have poured in, all hailing the efficacy of deep sleep pillow spray and this feedback has encouraged us to explore and evolve our range of sleep solutions; we developed Deep Sleep to help you fall asleep faster and wake feeling more rested. We created Sleep Plus to help restore healthy sleep patterns for restless sleepers.
The difference between our sleep sprays and others on the market? Firstly we use high concentrations of ingredients that harness the best in nature at their cleanest and most effective (which you can read about here...) and secondly, we have science on our side. Both our deep sleep and sleep plus pillow sprays have been submitted to a number of clinical and user trials to ensure that they truly deliver on the promise ‘This Works’.
And we think the results speak for themselves.
fMRI: lighting up the brain
By the beginning of 2017 we had total confidence that our sleep products worked, based on years of user trials and customer testimonials, but we also wanted to know why they worked.
And so we decided to support an independent functional MRI (fMRI) brain scan study, led by world-leading neuroscientist and medical doctor Professor Gaby Badre.
Undertaken by 15 male and 15 female participants between the ages of 20 - 35 years old, the trial took the form of an fMRI brain scan, with the intention to identify specific areas of the brain that become active when exposed to our Deep Sleep fragrance vs. a control fragrance.
During the study both fragrances activated the regions of the brain linked to smell, however Deep Sleep also activated specific areas of the brain associated with pleasure and calmness, enabling the research team to propose that the fragrance could evoke feelings of social comfort, trust and calmness, conceivably impacting sleep.
This linking of science, aromatherapy and brain imaging together, gives us a unique and invaluable insight into how our fragrance blends work. Looking to the future they also enable us to create new highly effective fragrances that are developed to target specific modern lifestyle and health concerns including disrupted sleep, improving daytime alertness or even being able to enhance memory.
In independent user trials, deep sleep pillow spray was proven to improve sleep quality and daytime wakefulness. After one-night users found that the pillow spray aided a better night’s sleep, helped them fall asleep faster, made them feel less tired come morning and alleviated the anxiety that surrounds getting to sleep*, infact:
100% would recommend deep sleep pillow spray to a friend
97% of users slept better than normal
98% of users felt more refreshed in the morning
89% of users fell asleep faster than normal
*In a study of 100 subjects and 100 ex-prescription users compared to no product.
sleep 2 hours longer
Sleep plus pillow spray, was proven in user trials to be able to extend the total sleep time of people suffering from temporary sleep issues by a whole two hours.* That’s one hundred and twenty minutes more shuteye.
How does it work? Sleep plus pillow spray utilises a slow release, motion activated system to provide sleep support throughout the night. As you turn on your pillow, our award-winning Deep Sleep Superblend, infused with Lavender, Camomile and Vetivert is slowly released for up to eight hours, aiding a less interrupted sleep overall.
And that’s not all, in trials...
94% of users felt less restless during the night**
97% of users felt more awake in the day**
96% of users felt they had a less disturbed sleep**
89% of users woke less often during the night**
*In a study of 23 subjects, use of sleep plus pillow spray resulted in a mean increase in the total sleep time of two hours and three minutes per subject compared to no product.
**Independently tested on 200 participants with sleep problems aged 18+ over a 14 day period compared to a placebo.
fight blue light
Whether we like it or not, most of us come into contact with tech screens most days - many of us even checking our phones in bed before we switch off the light. Blue light, the glare emitted from the screens of our phones, tablets and computers has now been proven to disrupt sleep patterns. Concerned by this modern form of sleeplessness, we conducted a user study* to investigate the effect of our award-winning sleep plus pillow spray on restless sleepers who are also heavy users of blue light emitting technology.
The results were more impressive than we could have imagined. Users not only recorded a marked improvement in quality and duration of sleep but also that they benefitted from a variety of positive effects the following day.*
Within the study we saw that...
90% of users felt the product aided and improved the quality of their sleep*
88% reported a deeper night’s sleep*
88% of users reported sleeping later in the morning or remaining asleep longer than usual*
88% of users reported waking up less often in the night than usual*
84% felt more refreshed the next morning*
80% of users felt they had a less disturbed sleep*
*In a study of 200 subjects compared to no product.
