National Kissing Day… a day dreamed up by a romantic flower delivery company? Not quite- the day was created by a dental payment plan company called Denplan!
National Kissing Day was created in an attempt to get people to remember the simple pleasures associated with kissing for kissing's sake, as opposed to kissing as mere social formality. Kissing is an enjoyable experience in itself and this day is the perfect day and way to express and experience intimacy.
Not that you need a reason- but here are some reasons why kissing is good for you...
So- get those lips in working order!
In celebration of National Kissing Day, This Works will be giving away free Turbo Balms from Selfridges on 6 July 2010.
"When I saw that both Grazia's Nicola Moulton and The Green Beauty Bible team had praised our Turbo Balm, I realised that very often the whole story of Turbo Balm is never told,” says Kathy Phillips, founder of This Works.
“If you look closely, there are hardly any lip balms on the market which are stable and easy to use but have no preservatives at all. Most of them use synthetically fragranced oils, and in the 80's many of the Monoi-based products on the market were fakes, using counterfeit oils made in Asia or elsewhere.
The real Monoi comes from Tahiti - so exotic! Our Turbo Balm is an intricate formulation of Monoi, Rose and Coconut Butter. To get the right texture and stability, and to see results, was very complicated. The Monoi we use is from the South Pacific Islands and is 100% natural. It has 200 Tahitian Gardenia flowers per litre, as opposed to the standard 12 - making it so much more potent (that's why we can claim it 'works'!).
The main benefits of Monoi oil include long lasting moisturisation, firming and soothing effects. It is also used in hair products (think how wonderful and shiny the hair of those Polynesian women is), and apparently it is also used to relieve headaches, insect bites and sties - I plan to test that with our balm very soon."
In keeping with the origins and creators of this day (the dental plan company),
Kathy Phillips says, “My dentist told me that his patients who have had collagen or other filler put in their lips have much harder, lumpier (and less kissable) lips. Something to consider before you have those procedures?”.
Instead, get beautiful lips the natural way and put our Turbo Balm to the test and claim your free Turbo Balm from Selfridges, this Tuesday, 6 July 2010.
